Coaching, now more than ever, requires creativity. We live in a world that never stops moving and our lives are as full as they have ever been. While it is important to set realistic goals based on where you are in your running journey, it is also okay to dream big! Reaching your goals might require some creativity on the coaching side and a lot of dedication and grit on the running side of things, but if you are truly committed to reaching your goals, Appalachian Endurance is committed to guiding you along your journey. Dreams are worth chasing!
I am a lifelong runner and have been helping friends and family prepare for their races for several years. In 2021 I decided to become a certified running coach through United Endurance Sports Coaching Academy. UESCA's science based approach combined with my years of experience training and racing on roads and trails best prepares me to coach runners of varying experience levels, at all distances in the smartest, safest way possible.
Whether you are running on roads or trails, running is a constantly evolving adventure. As you grow stronger and more experienced your running goals and thus your training needs will evolve too. No Matter where you are on your running journey Appalachian Endurance is here to create a custom training plan to help you reach your goals.
When I was 4 years old I would wait at the end of the gravel road to our house for my father to come home. As soon as I saw his green VW Rabbit come around the curve I would take off as fast as I could and see if I could beat him home. I always won, but I imagine my father was riding the brakes all the way down the hill.
I have spent most of my life living in North Carolina with brief stints in Tennessee and West Virginia. The one constant between these places is the rugged and stunningly beautiful Appalachian Mountains. Growing up I played any sport I had access to, including soccer, baseball, ultimate frisbee, and running track In my 20's I fell in love with rock climbing, and trail running during a few years spent living in West Virginia. Those long days on the trails of Coopers Rock State Forest and The New River Gorge were the beginning of a journey to seek out hard, beautiful trails and races all over the country. Trail running allows me to explore the world on my terms and has taken me to some of the most beautiful locations in the United States. By forming Appalachian Endurance I hope to share my passion for running with others.

Chase your dreams and don't be afraid of failure. If you allow fear to dictate your goals, you will never know what you are truly capable of.
